Orthodontics and invisible orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment consists in correcting malpositioned teeth, achieving their correct functioning and a harmonious smile. Treatment can be done through fixed or removable orthodontics (which can be removed by the same patient).
Fixed orthodontics is usually done with metal or ceramic brackets positioned on the teeth and joined by a wire that exerts the appropriate force for repositioning.
Removable orthodontics is usually done using invisible aligners (Invisalign ®, F 22®). The main drawbacks of this treatment are esthetical aspects, the difficulty in dental hygiene and the friction of the braces with the cheeks.
Carrying out proper orthodontics is essential to protect the teeth against gingival recession. Dental hygiene controls must be rigorous during treatment.
