Sedation

This type of anesthesia releases the patient and rids them of anxiety that undergoing a medical procedure may cause.

It must be carried out by anesthetists, who in addition to relaxing the patient, monitor all their constants so the intervention proceeds correctly.

Thanks to the administration of intravenous medication, subsequent inflammatory reactions decrease. This is especially relevant when extracting all 4 wisdom teeth or placing several implants in the same session.

Precautions

  •  Tell the anesthetist if you are taking any medication.

Requires fasting 8 hours previous to surgery.

  • The patient should not ingest solid or liquid foods 8 hours prior to sedation in order to avoid complications such as aspiration.

Recovery:

  • It is fast, in 30-60 minutes. The patient should not drive that day. The patient may need to get used to the restored anatomy of the tooth.
